After the prescription
Prescription in hand. Now what?
There are three legal routes to get the prescribed product. During the consultation you'll find out which one suits you best; here, you can follow each step and tick off what you've done.

Pharmacy
Anvisa-authorized cannabis products, bought here in Brazil, with your prescription in hand.
0 of 4 steps
- If the prescribed product is out of stock, talk to the team before switching: different concentrations change the dose.
- Always ask for an official receipt (nota fiscal).
Check that the product name, concentration and dosing instructions are correct. The form has an expiry date: don't leave it to the last minute.
Call or look up pharmacies in your city. Not all of them carry cannabis products, and prices vary a lot.
The pharmacy keeps the prescription form when you buy. Bring photo ID too.
It proves where the product came from, including when you travel.

Import with Anvisa authorization
You import the product yourself, for your own use, after a free registration on gov.br.
0 of 6 steps
- The authorization is valid for 2 years. Write down the expiry date.
- If your prescription changes to a different product, you may need to update the registration.
- Anvisa doesn't sell products: it only authorizes imports.
Registration is done on gov.br, Brazil's government portal, with a bronze, silver or gold level account. If you're the patient's legal guardian, use your own account.
The prescription must include: the patient's name, the product's brand name (generic terms such as “CBD oil” aren't accepted), the daily dose, the date, and the doctor's signature and CRM number.
Fill in the form and attach the prescription. It takes about 15 minutes. The service is in Portuguese.
If the product is on Anvisa's predefined list, the certificate is issued immediately. If not, Anvisa reviews the request and lets you know by email (check your spam folder too).
Once authorized, buy the prescribed product. Keep the authorization and the prescription handy: they may be requested on delivery.
Timing depends on the supplier and customs clearance. Order ahead so you don't run out.

Court decisions
Patient association
Organizations that produce and supply cannabis derivatives to their members, usually with court authorization.
0 of 5 steps
- Talk to the team before switching products or associations.
- Keep the lab report for each batch together with your prescription.
Find the ones that serve your region and how long they've been operating.
Ask whether the association has court authorization to produce and supply, and under what conditions.
Lab reports show the cannabinoid concentration and the absence of contaminants. Without them, there's no way to know the real dose.
Each association has its own sign-up process and required documents.
Check with the medical team that the product's concentration matches what was prescribed.
Traveling with the product
When traveling within Brazil, carry the product in its original packaging, with the prescription and the proof of purchase or import authorization. For international travel, rules vary widely from country to country: check before you go.
